One Earth Film Festival: Why We Cycle

This film explores the Dutch biking culture through conversations with ordinary cyclists and specialist from a variety of disciplines.  These conversations uncover some obvious but even more hidden effects of cycling on people and societies.  Gather with experienced and new cyclists in the area to for a lively post-film conversation about biking in our area -- the great resources we have and how it might develop going forward.

March Tune Up Class

Our two-part bicycle Tune Up Class will be taught by Katie, an experienced Recyclery crew mechanic. This class will introduce you to basic bicycle maintenance. We’ll cover tool and component terminology, fixing a flat, chain maintenance, brake pad replacement, and basic shifting adjustments.
This class will be held on the Sunday evenings of March 3rd & 10th, 6-9PM. Cost for the 2 session course is $75.

The Mayor’s Bicycle Advisory Council (MBAC) includes members representing a broad spectrum of backgrounds, from health care and enforcement and community groups. Several City departments are also represented.
MBAC focuses on a wide range of bicycle issues: safety, education, enforcement, and infrastructure investment. The Council will help identify issues, discuss ideas and set priorities for bicycle planning in Chicago.
