Fall Happens
Fall Happens
In this wisest of seasons, I felt it would be mature to not linger in denial over the impending loss of blading weather. Farewell Chicago Summerdance, Midnight Circus, and Mass Ensemble Earth Harp performances. Adieu animal topiary, Roy Lichtenstein and EMBODYdisembody. Now relish the harvest time!

Hospitals are expecting a boom, from conceptions during January's great blizzard! Truly this will be a rich Sukkoth, with babies, farmers markets, and a Harvest Moon! Thank the Goddess for the bounty of the wine week; of the World Music Festival, and of the Bikers Brunches. Time has been good to Saturday Night Live, and their 25 years will be celebrated greatly Sunday; and on that day as well, we shall receive an unprecedented crop of new cartoons, including Yogi (ala Spumco), King-O-Hill, Simpsons, and yes, Futurama.

Art is bountiful as well, witness Pilsen East and Northbrook Court having great art shows; Creed, Sting, and Paula Cole releasing new albums; Musicbox showing Yellow Submarine at midnight; athletes making a Critical Mass, and walking to fight AIDS and help the schools and parks; and the works of Nancy Josephson positively radiating ebullience.

But as life has given us blood, so we must in return give blood to Life Source. Maybe on the Muzak they'll play Moe, Transglobal Underground, Fun Da Mental, Superchunk, Springsteen or Better Than Ezra, but probably not.
