Human Is As Human Does
Human Is As Human Does
And golly do I dig the being human thing in fall, bittersweet though it may be. It's a breather week compared to some of those whammo over the top freakout ones before and soon. There's a big party and a new exhibit at the MCA this Friday and a Mars Movie Marathon at Adler. The weekend is SOFA, a worthwhile art show at Navy Pier, and the outdoor sculptures there are leaving. Also a design show, Cloud Gate Dance Theater and the American Indian Center Pow Wow. I might do a great Northbrook video game arcade and the Garfield- Clarendon Model Railroad club open house. The Saturday Walter Payton memorial service at Soldier Field is free, also the Bulls will host Miami and Phoenix. Starting this week are The Chicago Humanities Fest, Reeling Gay/Lesbian Film Fest and Dance Chicago. There's solid scenes at Berlin, Karma, Smart Bar, Mad Bar and Rainbo, the still deeply nice Pet Shop Boys are in town and lots of good locals are playing. Mad TV hits episode 100th, there's new King-O-Hill, Simpsons, and Futurama. Real World Hawaii ends Tuesday, preceded by a Saturday Marathon, and catch Starvin' Marvin in Space! Tuesday the first 60 art cows are auctioned and the Chicago Vegetarian Society dines in Andersonville. Diwali will be celebrated well, with several impressive Indian performances at the Cultural Center. Last but not least, let's remember Guy Fawkes Day and Veteran's Day.

Ongoing:
