Be a Fool Sometimes
Be a Fool Sometimes
When my Tarot cards are done this carefree character comes up. The fool's day this year is spectacular, with a Leslie Neilson hosted Three Stooges Marathon, a 70th Birthday Party for THE TWINKIE at the Pier, Henry Rollins Band at HOB, grandly foolish performance art and party at HotHouse, all girl comedy and party at Bailiwick, and the biggest party of all, The Mighty Blue Kings play for an excellent ADA dinner and swing dance gala tangentially honoring pigs. But I'll be doing my springing ahead an hour at the rave, muvin to TOP TOP TOP drum&bass producers! In other media: there's new South Park and other COM shows; the Chicago Latino Film Festival goes on, and there's a theatre now crammed in the century mall, seemingly bigger inside than out. Maybe they'll show the terrific locally shot movie, High Fidelity. Also D'Angelo, Mos Def, Groove Collective, B Side Players, Femi Kuti, Mr. Blotto, Berber, Extravery, Paul Oakenfold, Dave Ralph, Goldie, Redman/Method Man, Charlatans, Stereophonics and the Harvard Glee Club youth choir will play. So fools, catch the Barnum euro-mini-circus or architex mini-golf, or the LAN mega-game event, and remember fortune favors the fool (sometimes with fertility). It all kicks off with Critical Mass telling downtown cars that bikes are KING! (fools)
