1999.07.23 (week 108)
Congratulations!
WXRT broadcasts Woodstock '99's lalapa-like lineup, and the
Old Town School throws a Folk and Roots Festival.
I'll make a day seeing the Farmers Market, Edgewater's
best neighborhood festival ever, and Evanston's World's Largest
Garage Sale. Taste of Lincoln is making superlative claims
galore and the Newberry Library holds its reknowned Book Fair.
The MCA opens Roy Lichtenstein and holds its first comic book
event, Velocity celebrates its newest issue and Inspector Gadget
comes to the big screen.
Chicago brings top name acts; this week includes Luscious Jackson, Phish,
Iron Maiden, Cameo, Cowboy Junkies, Leo Kottke,
Roger Waters, DJ Dmitry, Orgy, The Cult and
Average White Band and the Beach Boys.
Also Cibo Matto, Man or Astro-Man,
