1999.11.26 (week 126)
We're All On The Same Team!
We're All On The Same Team!
Tis the season of brotherhood.
We've come such a long way on the genders
and races respecting each other,
so why do boarders and bladers give
each other attitude, and don't even get me started on
musical elitism. Factionalizing diminishes
us all and great minds accept oppossing
ideas to be simultaneously true.
As I blade through the Biggest Shopping Day Of
The Year I'm glad it's also Buy Nothing Day
a.k.a. Bike More Buy Less, and later this
week we must accept that Britney Spears is
an adult, and richer than most.
Skate on State alledgedly opens Friday and
the mayor lights the big tree downtown.
There are hundreds of other decorated
trees at MSI and the pier, zillions of lights
at the Zoo and Santas are everywhere as
Hanukkah approaches.
Now playing: Shwartzeneger, Queensryche,
String Cheese, "bin", Christian Smith, Funky Meters,
Derrick May, Stacey Pullen, My Scarlet Life,
Paul Oakenfold, Dave Ralph and a New Power Party.
The always great DJ Ry-N has moved on Sundays
to Motion at Betty's, I plan to be there.
The Wednesday Lunacy DJs Gil Burns, PuLz-8,
and Jeff Moyer have moved to Circus,
and half the DJs in the city have joined
Genius Insanity.
How the Grinch Stole Christmas only shows
a few rare times this year. Also worth viewing
is figure skating, new SouthPark, new Fox cartoons and
a Jason Alexander Star Trek Greatest Moments
special. A rare India travelogue will be shown,
Twilight Tales writers celebrate an anniversary
and Heather McAdams is having a party
for country music in the next millennium.
So be cool, peace out, say hi to strangers
and fight AIDS!
