2000.04.14 (week 146)
Aim For The Stars
Aim For The Stars
And I'm not talking about celebrity sniping.
On Friday, Saturn and Mars and Jupiter are having a soiree
before Space Ghost chats up Dr. Joyce Brothers and Garrett Morris,
then the Blast-Off pre-party fires up at Eden.
Also Friday is my mom's birthday (a star in her children's eyes),
Crosby Stills etc and the Sox home opener.
Congrats to Stars Our Destination, the little shop that could,
celebrating 12 years this Saturday. That evening, performers from other
planets include Smashing Pumpkins and Ute Lemper.
For real humans doin their thang go to Berlin or the rave
or maybe the International Vintage Poster Fair.
This stellar week also brings a full moon, the
Start of Taurus and Comdex World;
Palm Sunday, Income Tax day,
Psychotronics showing Warhol's "Lonesome Cowboys"
and a new South Park.
David Copperfield Journey of a Lifetime ends soon,
Golf Around Chicago ends later, and Barnum's
"Kaleidoscope" continues, so catch them soon.
I hope all can join the group skate on Wednesday
even though it's Passover.
Thursday is T-0 though, when Planet Drums
bring Diesel Boy, AK-1200, Dara, and Ry-N to Double
Door at the same time that the BrockOut krew
is crankin at Liar's Club. Combined, we surely
make the heavens tremble.
