Mailing List returned to self hosting.
The newsletter emailing list has been returned from Yahoo to self hosted.
Due to growing capacity problems the ChicagoFunNews.com emailing list was moved from self hosted to Yahoo Groups in 2008. At that time in Internet history fairly extreme email limiting by was commonplace to prevent spam, and hosts routinely limited domains to just a few hundred emails a day.
As time went on however Yahoo's problems became too glaring, with poor administration capabilities, corrupted formatting, lost and delayed messages, and advertising tacked on to each mailing.
With the rise of Amazon Services as of 2017 it finally became possible to return the newsletter emailings to self-hosted using cloud based messaging servers.
A single on-site JOIN/REMOVE form now handles all requests at:
